Solar Water Heating

Every hour the amount of solar energy hitting the earth is greater than the amount of energy used by every human being on earth annually.

Solar energy can be utilized as a source of heat, for example to heat your water, and as electricity, such as solar photovoltaics. Solar water heating systems are commonly referred to in the industry as Solar Domestic Hot Water systems.

A solar domestic hot water system uses the sun to heat water for home use.

The Solar Domestic hot Water system connects to a home's existing gas or electric water heating system, providing a supplemental source of heat for all hot water needs including showers, dishwashing, and clothes washing, and cooking. Solar water heating systems are a proven technology that works well even in cold climates.

Benefits of Solar Water Heating

There are many benefits of solar heater in our daily life. It has many environmental benefits too. In our daily life we need hot waters for various purposes.

For fulfilling this specific need of hot water we use electric heaters which consume a lot of electricity as well as harm our environment. So if we use a solar water heater it would not only reduce our daily cost but also will do no harm to our environment. Moreover it uses the solar energy which is a renewable source.

It can be used for many applications, for example, car washes, hotels and motels, restaurants, swimming pools, and laundry mats. There are many possible designs for a solar water heater.

In general, solar water system consists of three main components:

1. Solar collector, which converts solar radiation into useable heat.

2. Heat exchanger/pump module, which transfers the heat from the solar collector into the filterable water.

3. Storage tank to store the solar heated water.

Solar hot water is one of the most cost-effective ways to include renewable technologies into a building.

About two-thirds for the need of conventional water heating is reduced by a home solar water-heating system. It has a drastic effect on the daily cost of electricity or fuels for heating water for daily uses and also reduces the associated environmental impacts.

Its works somewhat like this simple way- the water heaters directly use the sun to heat either water or a heat-transfer fluid in the collector. Then that heated water is held in the storage tank & is ready for use.

It is also provided with a conventional system for providing additional heating as necessary. These heating systems can be either active or passive, but the most common are active systems.

Therefore solar energy is a clean and abundant energy resource that can be used to supplement many of your energy needs. It can be utilized as a form of heat, such as solar water heating. Thus solar water heating is the best method to fulfill your daily need of hot water at a minimum cost which is also environment friendly.

It is one of the most cost-effective uses of solar energy, providing hot water for showers, dishwashers and clothes washers. Every year, several thousands of new solar water heaters are installed worldwide.
