Township of Tiny: People and Nature at Their Finest!
Township of Tiny can be found in the Southern Georgian Bay region and is approximately 43 miles
long or 160 square miles.
Population 10,980
Dwellings 8,607
Area 343.20 (km²)
Density 30.4 (persons per km²)
This area is located between Severn Sound and Nottawasaga Bay, at the southernmost tip of Georgian Bay.
While the regular population is fairly small, the region is a popular summer destination both for tourism and
cottagers.
The township was named by Lady Maitland, wife of Sir Peregrine Maitland, Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada in the early 1800s
for her Pekinese lapdog. Lady Maitland named three adjoining townships for her three dogs - Tiny, Tay and Floss.
It is relatively undiscovered by developers and therefore lot prices are much more reasonable, especially to Baby
Boomers that are looking for an affordable retirement home.
Available empty lots are mainly situated only minutes of relaxing walk to one of the beautiful beaches the township
offers.
There are unlimited numbers of models offered due to the fact that most of available lots are 100' x 150' in size.
